ICCP
Tecnoseal’s ICCP systems offer active corrosion protection, keeping underwater structures safe over time. Stand-alone or booster solutions are available for every need.
WHAT THEY ARE
An impressed current cathodic protection system is used to protect structures immersed in seawater against galvanic currents.
lt is typically used for cathodic protection of large ships (commerciai vessels), but for the past few years has also been installed on pleasure yachts.
Impressed current systems are used on commerciai ships, yachts, and mega yachts.
They are most directly installed on iron/steel boats, but recently such systems are also being used on aluminum boats.
This type of systems is preferably used for motorboats, although they can be installed on sailboats taking special precautions.

What they protect against
ICCP systems, also called active cathodic protection systems, are an alternative to classica! passive protection systems based on sacrificial anodes.
The way we manufacture them
They are manufactured in cooperation with well-established partner companies.
Impressed current cathodic protection systems are typically of two types:
- Stand-alone ICCP systems
- Booster ICCP systems
Basically, both systems run identically, but the stand-alone system is the only cathodic protection system installed on the boat, whereas in the case of the booster system there will be both a sacrificial anode system and an impressed current system installed.
The ICCP Booster system is increasingly being used on larger MYs with passive cathodic protection (sacrificial anodes) and not defining a drydocking period.
The lmpressed Current Booster system (always switched on) will automatically go into operation when the effect of sacrificial anodes ends.
Why you should choose Tecnoseal
Tecnoseal Foundry’s research and development have mainly focused on the ICCP Booster systems being launched on the market in recent years.
The need for much more detailed control of hull electrochemical potentials makes Tecnoseal’s booster module a very reliable system.
